HIDDEN COLLECTION

We all have words, passages and thoughts that hold special meaning. Whether it is a vow to someone else, to ourselves, a mantra, a life lesson learned or perhaps a phrase from a loved one we hold close to our hearts. 

A close friend of mine gave me a necklace with a pendant cast from a heart shaped rock with the engraved words ‘Love Thyself’. The pendant is meant to be worn with the words against your chest, not for anyone else to see.

In a culture where so many things are outwardly expressed and shared, the gift felt that much more meaningful. This inspired me to work on pieces incorporating hidden or abstracted messages where only the collector and myself know the meaning.
